It all started with an idea from our founder Christoffer Sundberg’s mother Laila’s kitchen in the north of Sweden. She wanted to have a better solution for finding reading glasses with high quality and amazing design. On top of that she also wanted it delivered to her door. This alternative was nowhere to be found. 

In the small town in the north of Sweden, which is synonymous worldwide with manufacturing high-quality carpets during the 1900’s, Christoffer started dreaming of a “what if”. He started crafting a solution for his mother's problems, which resulted in the creation of GLAS first model Grace, a pair of reading glasses inspired by 70’s sunglasses fashion. Not long after that, in the summer of 2018, he took the first step to create a better everyday life for the 1 billion people all over the world who are in need of a better solution for reading glasses. We decided to do this with a consumer focus, unique design and high-quality manufactured product. And give customers the opportunity to order glasses straight to their doorstep. Not long after the launch consumers started to pop up from all the corners of the world and GLAS was officially born.

Today, you can visit GLAS head office in the heart of Stockholm. Even though we have moved to the city, our values are still very much rooted in the northern Swedish culture. Compassion and authenticity are still a cornerstone of our beliefs. And on top of that we will never stop dreaming of improving the world around us.

We can’t lie- we believe our products are great. All our products are designed in Sweden and the design process is based on Scandi minimalism. We try to source the best alternatives for Mother Earth, because that's just the right thing to do.

Also, we believe that high quality should be available for everyone, no matter who you are. From the very beginning, we have co-created many models together with our community to make sure there are options available for everyone.
